The term “climate change” is unsuitable, because “change” has neutral meaning and does not imply an agent. No doubt some would prefer “climate enhancement,” but that sacrifices exactness to comfort, I feel. Instead I propose “climate ruin,” a phrase which signifies both the corruption of the climate and the wreckage produced by the corrupted climate, and also suggests the work of agency, even if not explicitly the folly and greed of mankind.
